Join Pittsburghers Against Single-Use Plastic for a community potluck on the front porch and lawn of the Pittsburgh Friends Meeting House in Shadyside. Bring a dish to share–and reusable dishes to use! This event is free and welcoming to all, so please bring your family, friends, and neighbors!

Things to bring, as you are able:

  • Food to share (please include a card listing all ingredients to address possible allergies)
  • A list of any disposable plastic involved in purchasing and preparing the food
  • Your own reusable dishes, utensils, and water bottle
  • Optional: Lawn chair or picnic blanket
  • Friends and family!

We’ll provide:

  • Yard space for great weather, porch and indoor space for uncooperative weather conditions or indoor picnickers!
  • Plastic-free, non-alcoholic beverages
  • Activities and games for all ages:
    • Make a robot from upcycled materials
    • Silk screen a bag, shirt or other fabric (please bring your own) or a poster (we’ll have the paper)
    • Blow giant bubbles
  • A chance to meet and network with like-minded folks:
    • Learn what PASUP is all about and share your ideas for anti-plastic initiatives
    • Meet other local environmental groups and organizations: Learn what they do and how you can get involved
    • Shop for plastic alternatives from local green businesses
  • An anti-plastic action you can complete on the spot!
  • Reusable dishes (to borrow if you were unable to bring yours)
  • A good time for all!
